Two star location. The lack of business should of been a sign. The corner cutting tables should of been a sign. The poor seat quality should of been a sign. Let this be your sign not to ever step foot into this place for hotpot ever. The soup base is bland, the vegetables are pre-cooked, the cuttlefish is foul tasting and smelly. The lack of business in a great location downtown is the only sign I'll never miss again. Yelp told me this location was a "Hot New Spot" in their push notifications. What a let down. The 2 stars comes from the fact that the lunch special was a good value and the build the hop pot feature. Would of been a real killer idea. Just failed to execute on taste/ambiance/flavor.
Nice place and good service. The soup base was salty and with MSG that’s why it taste good. Other ingredients are all frozen food. I like fresh ingredients.
I like the variety of milk teas and tasty appetizers. Always good for friends gathering.
Loved it!
Best kept secret in Alameda. For $11.95 you get hotpot with rice and ice cold sweet Jasmin tea for lunch. The post comes out already cooked with a small platform and fire to keep it warm. Flavors were good and the portion was very generous. I got 2 meals out of it.
This is a sorry attempt at trying to copy Boiling Point. The broth is horrible. After a few bites all you taste is salt cuz it's so salty.
Excellent service, great lunch special, amazing food.
Food: Too many vegetables, not enough meat in the hotpot. Shaved ice was pretty good. 3/5Service: Attentive and nice. 4.5/5Location: nice and safe area with a lot of other restaurants around. 5/5
Came with rice and an option of green/black tea. Hot pot was filling, but wanted more flavor out of it.
Mediocre soups but they're good enough for a quick weeknight dinner. The portions are also large and stuffed with toppings. Meager meat portions though. Try the Taiwanese or Laksa and avoid the Korean and Seafood soups. I've only arrived later in the night and their service is good and fast during these times. No waiting for tables either. Don't bother with the milk teas but they sometime have promotions where you can get one for free.
Have been here for about 5-6 times in the past two years. The 10 different personal hot pots are all looking delicious. My friends and I have tried most of the pots. Everyone all enjoyed what they ordered. I'd highly recommend to come to experience different way of dining (or lunching)! One thing though, no more free wifi is a bummer! Thus 4 stars;(
Like the idea of personal hot pot with the flame keeping my food hot. Their portions and selections are good. Lunch deal is great!
Yummy food
First time here and I shall return.
If you are craving a spicy Malaysian coconut soup, this is the place. Lunch is a deal as the soup comes with rice and tea. I was stuffed.
Good food,nice treatment!
Good variety of personal size hot pots. Price is reasonable.
If you can't afford the time to visit Boiling Point in Fremont, this is your second choice, for this kind of small Taiwan stinky hot pot.Not as delicious as Boiling Point but not too bad. Lunch (hot pot + rice + drink) is a better deal than the dinner one (more expensive with only the hot pot).Good thing about this place is their various choices of milk tea.
Food was tasty, but the broth was literally boiling hot. Had to wait an hour for the flame to burn out so I could eat my soup. Tried early and both my wife and I burned our tongues badly. Would recommend if they had slightly cooler soup.
Yay! Something new to choose from on the islad. Good stuff, too. I like it and will be back.
